GCSEEnglish.uk was created to solve a simple problem: too many capable students are underperforming in English because they have never been shown what top-band answers actually look like.
I am Edward Mooney, an English specialist with two decades of experience in teaching and tutoring GCSE English. I studied English Literature at Cambridge University before qualifying as a teacher with a PGCE in Secondary English and I have since worked with students from a wide range of backgrounds, helping them move from uncertainty to clarity, and from mid-range grades to 7, 8 and 9.
GCSE English is not about guesswork. It is about structure, control and precise thinking under timed conditions. When students understand that, their results change.

Most revision guides explain what students should do.
